THE WILDBEYOND

SUSTAINABLEINITIATIVES

Electric supply Policy
We take care of nature by using low-consuption electricity, on a timed schedule for better efficiency, and complementing it with solar energy.

COMMITMENTTO THE ICE

We comply with the Progressive Reduction Regulations and the specific Ban on Plastics in our Parque Nacional. As members of the Refill Not Landfill global campaign, we have set up water refill stations in the Estancia and promote the usage of reusable bottles.

RESEARCH CONTRIBUTION

Patagonia is home to a diverse and immense ecosystem. It is easy to run into condors, red foxes or pumas. The proximity to these animal species as well as to the continental ice attracts hundreds of geologists, glaciologists and tourism students, so we decided to support their research with lodging.

ECOLOGICAL DECISIONS
WE DECIDE TO CARE

  • We follow the Regulation for the Progressive Reduction and Specific Prohibition of Plastics in the Jurisdiction of National Parks.
  • We use reusable containers and utensils to reduce the consumption of disposable materials.
  • We have water refill stations distributed in our lodge, and we provide our guests with a personal, refillable bottle to use throughout their stay.
  • We use waste bags made from recycled material and biodegradable cups.
  • We recycle paper and choose durable, reusable containers to avoid single use.
  • We use stainless steel straws, glass containers, and cloth bags for laundry.
  • We have diesel-electric generators with limited use hours and solar panels. In addition, we use low-consumption LED lighting in our lodge and facilities.
  • We classify and take our solid waste to the El Calafate collection point.
